Atlantic Ave Tunnel- NY City Council Says Open It !

The two NYC Council Members representing the districts in which the Atlantic Avenue Tunnel is located have stated in a joint letter to NYC DOT Commissioner Janet Sadik- Khan: Why were the highly successful public tours of the world's oldest subway stopped by NYC DOT in Dec 2010- and kindly find a way to restart them now :-) .  See attached PDF file.

It is extremely heartening news that the local politicians are supporting the reopening of the Atlantic Avenue Tunnel. We think the next few months should be very telling- seems like the political winds are shifting.  The unelected NYC bureaucrats responsible for the malicious closure of the tunnel and the intentionally malevolent actions towards BHRA (who likely wish to remain at their posts after the Bloomberg "administration" expires in 18 months), will hopefully be inclined to jump at the opportunity to be of service to the new "political powers that will be" just around the corner. However, we hope those high level city bureaucrats who are already planning to leave office with "Hizzoner" (effective on January 1, 2014) will decide not to "kamikaze" themselves in anticipation of the incoming City administration. Time will tell...

We're looking forward to seeing you all again at the tunnel in 2014- if not sooner :-)
