Red Hook Construction

A pole-raising experience

Fall, 2002. – The scratch-built tripodal pole-erecting device is one of Bob Diamond’s ingenious ideas.  Ever wonder what the Egyptians used to put up those obelisks? Probably something similar to this. The poles slide into sleeves made of appropriate
diameter steel pipe. The sleeves are set in concrete along the right-of-way. As of September 20th, nine poles have been installed along Connover and Reed Streets.
